I was curious if anyone else with a Samsung (or any other) HDTV notices
that when the brightness is up (like 75 or above) that depending on the
background you notice a faint vertical line in the center of the screen,
about a half inch wide, where the picture is a bit brighter then the rest
of the screen. Most of the time I don't notice it, it can happen when
watching digital cable or DVDs on the component input but seems more
noticable when watching a DVD.
I called Samsung and they just said have a service center look at it, I
thought I'd ask here before lugging a 100 lb. TV across the county.

You really should have your set properly calibrated and NOT have the
brighness jacked so far up.
