Will my current psu be able to handle a x1950 Pro (agp) ?

Sorry if this has been asked a gazillion times. I'm looking at picking up the sapphire x1950 with the two power connectors.

Thats what I currently have, i thought it was a single rail when I bought it but i ts a dual with 18a and 16a on the 12's. 500w total.

If not i might break down and buy this one

More about will current handle x1950
  1. What's the rest of your system consist of?
  2. Intel Pentium 4 3.0 @ 3.4 Ghz
    1 Gb Kingston Pc2700 Ram
    Samsung 120Gb Hard Drive
    Xfx 6600GT
  3. You might be pulling 200W on a bad day. Your 500W PSU is plenty.
  4. Oh man you made my day :) Was just a little worried since every review i read is like "omg insane power etc etc" Hopefully it will come down in price a little also if those new agp Ati's come out later this month.
  5. DO NOT GET APEVIA, THEY SUCK, QUALITY IS TERRIBLE

    yeah, what i said

if i were you, id prolly get one of those antec truepowers or w/e for about the same price

or a sunbeam nuuo for the same price

    ^^
  6. to late :( i have the 500w in my system as we speak. Hopefully it doesnt crap out on me.
  7. dont worry man.

ive prolly been influenced too by all of these "perfection" builders.

im sure that if a company makes a product, its decent.

hehe, he fills you with hope doesnt he

your psu should be fine, lets just hope the materials used to make it werent 3rd class :?

Should be fine...best of luck
  9. Just FYI, my PCI-E x1950Pro is running on an FSP 450watt just fine. You have enough on your 12 volt rails, so you will probably be okay.

Apevia is known for crappy PSUs, so check your rails for stability
