Security Translation Wizard

Hello

I am using ADMT to migrate users, computers and profiles from NT4 domain to
Windows 2000 domain. Usually this is fine, but one or two machines will not
translate the security settings for the user profile. I get this error
message in the log

Failed to load profile C:\Documents and Settings\cfchow\NTUser.DAT into
registry, rc=32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used
by another process.
2004-10-19 11:25:57-S30938: Error enumerating the profile list entries,
rc=32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process.

The two machines this is currently happening with are both Windows 2000, one
of them is sp1, the other is sp4.

Has anyone any ideas what process may be using the NTUser.dat file? The user
is logged off the machine at the time the security translation wizard is run

Hi Oli

No, I have just checked and there are no services running as the user on the
local machine.

I have also checked for spyware and adware and removed all instances. In
addition to that, I loaded UPHClean v1.5e just in case the profile wasn't
unloading properly (even though there was nothing else to suggest this was
happening) and it hasn't helped either!

If the security translation fails once, is there any implications in
re-running the wizard again? I have been doing this each time I make a
change on the local machine and just wondered if it would always fail
because it failed the first time.
