This benchmark is comprised of 2 much more tasking tests.

The first one calculates the distance between 2 points random, each point is a double percision floating point.

The second calculates the area of a triangle at random dimensions using herons formula.

Its got all the compile and code optimizations we discussed in the other thread, but is still not multithreaded.

Im expecting to see a little bit less mhz dependance on this bench, but i wont find out without your help :p

So, please run it and post your score(s) as well as your cpu info. (the scores are exported to a text file after the test is run)

so, here is the link: http://h1.ripway.com/bsfoltz/jaybench.exe

If you want the source code PM me, but id rather not just post it here.

ps. i may make some changes over the next week or so, but it wont be soon so we can play with this for now :p

P.S: Try to fix the first test as it looks to be pretty random; it ranges from ~1400 to above 3000

Thats odd.... its performing consistently on my machines....

Has anyone else had that problem?

As for the rest its looking a lot more accurate than my previous one, as Core 2's are performing best, Athlon 64's good... and Pentium 4's.... not so much

The randomness of the first test is due to Cool'n'Quiet in AMD CPUs... I had it too the first couple of times... Until I realized what was happening.

Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 3.65GHZ @ 1.55v
FP Bench 1: 7088.48

FP Bench 2: 10829.26

I then compared it to the same clock speed as M25's X2 4200 @ 2.4GHZ

His:
1: 3322
2: 6079
Mine:
FP Bench 1: 4616.96
FP Bench 2: 8110.52

This one isn't clock speed Dependant then.
