Well, the Comcast tech came out last Tuesday and installed my hdtv cable
box. Fortunately, it wasn't the same tech who tried to install a broken
cable box last week and was so grouchy because he was running late that he
told me I wouldn't see any difference between my analog box and the hdtv
box.
Boy, was he wrong. This tech connected my Philips hdtv monitor to the cable
box via component cables and I was blown away. Last night, I kept switching
between the analog NBC channel and the hdtv version while watching HAWAII.
My comment: WHOA!!!!!
So, a lesson learned. Don't listen to techs who are running late on their
appointments and are trying to get out of your house so they can go home.
HDTV is definitely worth it, I just wish they had more channels to watch. I
can't wait for SMALLVILLE to premiere.
