Okay, I did read PSU 101 (maybe I should read it again?) but I am not sure. The hyper unit type R 530 watt PSU sports dual 12v rails. According to the box the PSU rails 12v 1 = 1A-20A and 12v 2 = 1A-17A
The 5v says 2A-34A
The PSU will be running a AMD athlon 64 x2 5200+ on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard. Will have (for now) DVD burner, SATA drive and IDE drive. Probably a couple USB things plugged in too. With a single (at least for now) Geforce 8800 GTS 640.
Any thoughts?
After cooking two PSUs (they where cheap) I want to make sure I don't fry another one and take down a nice system (IMHO). Like many people I never thought of the PSU being just as importaint as the CPU or ram
it can supply 336 on the 12v rails, which gives 28A on them
i was looking at bfg to check the specs on the card and for the non oc version you need 26A and for the oc version you need 28A (minimum). so that psu isnt enough
look at the links in psu 101 again and read through it. amps are more important than watts. if you look at the label on a psu, you can see the number of watts supplied to the 12v rail, divide this number by 12 and you get the amps on the 12v rail(s).

Yes, that is the one. I started looking at the card after I got the PSU. Bummer and I really liked the PSU
