I have a DELL Axim30. When I do a backup of my Calendar and Contacts to an
SD card. I hard reset my PDA, restore my Calendar and Contacts to an SD card,
I found that I lost all Categories I created before the backup.
I have hundreds of contacts to cre-creat the Categories and re-assign them
one by one.
DELL tech support claims that there is not 100% data reovery in the backup
and restore operation!

I use an image to the flashmemory to backup. It restores everything like it
was before and there are countless times that I thank the lord for this
function!

I have had trouble with the HP backup tool, I'd just say always use the
Active Sync back tool.
For some really really stupid reason Active Sync likes to give you a
heart attack by saying the devices don't match when you try and restore
- if you get that, it's because the PDA needs to have the same regional
settings as your PC - WHY?? "logic" is an integral part of programming,
however Microsoft seem to be lacking in this respect.
