I am trying to istall a wireless network on a computer. The computer does
not load the network properly. When I right click the icon in the tool bar
it calls up a menu which has "view wireless networks". No networks are
listed in the menue thaqt comes up. The icon on the tool bar has an "X"
through it.
I have gon into networks on the machine and checked all the preferences and
can find nothing there to reset or change to make the machine reconize the
wireless network. I have Norton Works installed on the machine. Is that the
possible program causing the conflict?

Hi,
Quite often, with a new network, it helps to reset everything. Power off the
incoming connection (cable/dsl modem) and the wireless access point (WAP or
router). Then turn on the connection, wait until it is "talking" to the
outside world, then turn on the access point, allowing it time to setup. It
may help to also turn your machine off as well, and make it the third item
powered on.
