I just came across this. You guys have probably seen it already. Looks really awesome. About time they found out a way to jack up the performance of laptops. Cheaper upgrade option going forward too.

One could buy a great operating performance laptop for around $1500, and then get this baby. Then in 1-2 years, your laptop will still be functioning fine, and you can just upgrade the GPU to handle graphics.

This has been posted many times, discussed to death and even made obsolete by external PCIe. So the 1-2 year timeframe you talk about isn't going to be worth it. It was only of interest to the few people who currently has ExpressCard rigs right now and even still they can't get them yet. External PCIe is going to arrive shortly after these hit the market.
So miahallen is right, Old News dude. Also, since it's only 1X PCIe it's not good news now that there's better replacements like LASSO. No restriction on cards either, and already been demo'd with multi-VPU.

Also ASUS makes you buy the GF7900GS with the unit, so it's not going to be as attractive as something open spec like external PCIe.

Sorry man, very old news.
