HBO High Def Channel 509 Gone?

Forum Home Theatre : HDTV HBO High Def Channel 509 Gone?

I have a high definition Directv/Tivo unit and have been enjoying the
HBO high def broadcasts on Channel 509 since I got it in May of 2004.

Suddenly, Channel 509 has disappeared from my directory listing.
There is no longer any listing for HBOH (the high def channel).

What gives?

I made sure to check that my guide wasn't filtering channels out via
the Favorites or Channels You Receive filter, and when I go directly
to the channel by pressing the number 5-0-9 into the remote, I just
get a black screen with a "Channel Not Available" message.

Please advise if you've got answers.

Thanks!

Look around 80 or so, that is where all the HD programming is going. Of
course, you have to pay extra for that, but since you get HBO, maybe you
don't.

Try calling DirecTV and asking them.

Try Channel 70 (or 71). One is HBO, the other is SHO.

PROBLEM SOLVED:
I'm returning months later to follow up on this question in case anyone
else has this problem and finds my thread here.

Turns out, I didn't have all three of my LNB's configured and working,
I was only getting part of what I was capable of. Was a simple setting
in the setup panel, I just never knew it existed, or that I wasn't
receiving everything I should.

After a simple settings adjustment, all was well. Now, if only it
didn't take 42 calls to tech support to figure this out. : /
