Looking at replacing an older 80 GB PATA HD with a new SATA HD. The guide for my Mobo shows support for 150 serial transfer speed. An older SATA 1 drive used for digital images runs well on this board. Was wondering if these new SATA 2 units with 300 speed are likely to run on my board and if so would they run at 150 or 300?
Here is link to one I was looking into:

Yeah, they'll run no problems....but only at the SATA150 speed. Depending on the drive, there might be a jumper on the back to be removed for SATA150 running. Running at SATA150 speed won't make any noticeable difference in speed, compared to SATA300, so don't worry about that. GL :)
