If I were to wait for an e6420 at the same price an e6400 is now, how much difference would that extra 2 mb cache for: #1: gaming, #2: general usage, #3: Oc'ing, and #4: video editing/media stuff?

Also, as I live in New Zealand, I seriously don't see cheap prices on the 22 of April. When do you guys reckon it will hit us Down Under? By the time Barcelona's out ??? Or maybe not ???

From what i know only in heavy application, benchmark that requirement a lots of calculation, compression you will see a difference, nothing in oc.

Anandtech shows the differences with a "hypothetical" 4MB E6300(they just dropped the multiplier on an X6800) vs a 2MB E6300. They got an average increase of ~3.5%.

Lol, thanks for that. Not worth waiting for prices to filter through for a 3.5% increase for my money. Btw, I talked to a mate last night, and NZ prices will be the same as US Q2 one around October. Definetly not worth the wait, unless I was to get an E6600.

They say the price drops happen on April 22nd. But will, say, Newegg actually drop their prices on that date, and you can tangebly see the effects that day?

The prices are per 1000 units, so you will not get them for quite the price stated, but close to it. I expect that newegg will have the price changes within the month, possibly within the week, but I don't know exactly how long to be sure. Some retailers may have prepared to sell on the day but I don't know. It'll take 2 months to get down to the expected price.
