newbie - advice required

Hi.

I'm new to PDA's. My wife & I need to be able to sync a PDA device each to a
copy of Outlook running on a single PC. Reading up on the subject I have
become concerned that you have to "link" (forgive terminology) a PDA to a
PC - can you link two PDA's to one PC so they can both sync? I also have no
idea which models to buy. I've been looking at the Dell X30's but wonder
whether a Palm device would be more cost effective - I worry they may not
sync so well with Outlook though as the Windows models - am I right? All I'm
after really is a PDA with the best Outlook replication. Any advice
gratefully received.

Rgds,
RW.

You can sync two PDA's with the same Outlook oni one PC - I do that as I
have two iPaqs, one is a phone, the other a straight PDA, but I use them on
different occasions, and there is no harm done. HP Ipaqs all use Microsoft
Active Sync so the sync-ing is the same whatever the device.

As to which to buy - that is a question only you can answer, depending on
budget and requirements (and the extent these two overlap). Do you want it
to be a phone, WiFi enabled, bluetooth connectivity? Do you want it fast so
that it can play games? Just a basic address book and diary substitute?

all the best

Boris is correct... you have to sync the same data... i.e. your address
list, calnedar and other pim data will be the same but "catagories" can
be put to good use to deal with this.

If you both change or update the same items when mobile, there will be
resolution issues, so keep separate notes.

The other cavaet is that only one device can be connected at a time.
