Riprep images And VS .NET2003

has anyone heard about possible problem when installing Visual Studio .NET
2003 on "installed-by-riprep" computers?

this is my problem:
I have installed 5 clients using a windows 2000 pro RiPrep Image.after that
I installed Visual Studio .Net 2003 on one of them with no error.but when I
wanted to do some DataBase Programming(using .Net's sqlDaTaAdapter
component),the DataAdapter could not connect to SQL server.I again tested it
with other riprep clients and got the same problem.
when I installed VS.net on an ordinary client (which wan NOT setup by
riprep);I could successfully do my programming.

the problem will be solved if I try to use ODBConnection and ODBCdataadapter
instead of SQLconnection and SQL dataadapter;but I don't want to.

whats wrong with that riprep image?
