Ok so as above I'm using a X2 4200 CPU on a Asus A8N SLI SE Mobo. The problem is the motherboard is a 939 socket board and only takes up to DDR-400 memory. I would like to upgrade to something like the Asus Crosshair for about £140 because I can then use DDR2-800 memory but this is an AM2 and I'm not sure if its is compatible with my CPU?

Also does anyone have any experience using this board or think that I'm missing something?

Yes i agree. The 939 socket is dead. They have stopped being made. if you need some more speed you should try overclocking your cpu. i have the same one it i got another 400 mhz out of it. Its a cheap way to speed things up a little.

With all the hype about the C2D people have forgotten that the X2 are still good performers. They may not be the fastest cpu around but they can still get the job done well.
