I just acquired a Toshiba 56X82 Projection on the cheap, but it will
not accept input from any of the sets of connectors. The menu does
come up and all the menu functions appear to work fine. Just... no
incoming signal through SVid, Component or Composite cables.

I have heard that there are some weak solder points in this particular
model, is there any truth to that? Is there a place to find a free
service manual or do i have to dish out $80?

Toshiba manuals are pretty reasonable. The price should be much less than
$80, which is more like a Pioneer manual.

It is unlikely that you have a bad solder joint causing this problem. It
will likely take some troubleshooting to find the problem.
