Installing Win2K on an ME machine...get a "Checking C:
Drive" message, followed by a reboot, stuck in infinite
loop. Even with CD removed, every time the machine is
turned on that's all it does. Any ideas how to proceed
without having to reformat the hard drive?

Boot with a WinME startup disk and issue the command
sys C:
This will rewrite the dos/ win9x boot sector to the system drive, and
assuming your WinME install has not been overwritten, should allow you to
startup.
