Hey, i'm buying a new system, and i have heard that the Intel Core 2 Duo is a great chip to overclock. Since money is an issue i have tried to gather some rather "cheap" components.

I am a gamer and i use my computer for editing video.

Intel Core 2 Duo / E6400 / 2MB / 2,13GHz / 1066FSB

OCZ 2x512 DDR2 PC2-6400 Plat. Enhanced Latency XTC
DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz CL4

1: I went with the good 1 GB 6400 MHz CL4 ram, instead of the 2 GB PC3200 CL5 ram, which would have been average at the price budget i have. Is that a good idea or should i go with 2GB RAM?

2: I haven't decided a MB yet. But i need something cheap (Max 100$), but still a proper overclocking MB. Any suggestions ?

3: What much can i expect to overclock this system, with the right MB, obliviously.

I'm looking forward for you answers and thank you in advance.

1. Better to get 2GB. The slightly higher latency won't affect a Core2Duo very much. Having 2GB of RAM will become more and more important, and some games and apps. can greatly benefit from the extra GB.

2. Not many "good" overclocking boards at the $100 level, but this one certainly is:

GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3

3. With a "decent" HS/F, you should be able to hit 3.3-3.4GHz, with said components.
