I saw this link news on dailytech.com and it doesn't seem realistic. http://www.dailytech.com/Article.aspx?newsid=6484#cmt11...

The 6700 is $522 now on newegg and the new 6750 with a higher fsb than the 6700 is suppose to only be 183$?

Q3 officially starts in april so does anybody know when in q3 the processor will come out. I dunno how much longer I can wait now that my computer just died because I was told by ATI support to update my motherboard bios.

same thing i always say (cpu only):

1) intel wants the lead back - its got it
2) intel wants all 3 tiers low mid and high - its got it - but @ the low end amd is fighting back, amd's high end is now mid.
3) intel must deliever share holder value for the long and short run
a) that means as high as price as possible
b) maximum market sharte
4) intel owns the high end - the only quad the only 4ghz chips (oc C2D)

conclusion: why price chips that low, they need to deliver profits

possiblites: intel goes all quad core for mid and highe end.

q6400 - $400
q6600- $600

so a e6850 would be $400 and a e6750 would be $300

That is assuming that Intel has its fiscal year start on Jan 1. If they do, then yes, that would be Sep1. The company I work for starts its fiscal year on Oct 1.

Either you've been getting into crackdlr's goods or I have. 8O

Q1 starts Jan. 1. ends Mar. 31. That's three months.
Q2 starts Apr. 1 ends Jun. 30. That's three months.
Q3 starts Jul. 1 ends Sep. 30. That's three months.
Q4 starts Oct. 1 ends Dec. 31. Where do you get Sept 1 from?????

considering the upcoming price drops a core2duo 2.6ghz at that price is highly likely; also amd is launching its lineup in Q3 so i wouldnt doubt that intel has something up its sleeve to battle amd

I thought that Intel had kind of nudged and winked a while back at some conference that they were thinking all-quad by the end of this year. Know this is vague, but I just woke up and I've already smoked myself stupid.

Well, if a 2.4GHz quad will be sold for $260...
