Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup_upgrade (More info?)
Hi,
I upgraded Win 98 to Win 2000 on my ThinkPad 600E ( P2-
300 Mhz 96M RAM ). When rebooting, I get the error "The
file NT5INF.CAT on Windows 2000 Professional CD-ROM is
needed". If I click Cancel, I get the error "Setup
failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal
error.". If I click OK now, it reboots and goes back
into the same thing again.
This talks about upgrading the firmware for the CD-ROM
drive. At the IBM site, the CD-ROM firmware update
creates diskettes. However, I don't have a floppy drive
for this computer.
