What games are playable (with some eye candy) on a 7600gt @ 1024x768 and 1280x1024?

I'm fairly new to VGA's and gaming. The card should be here tomorrow.

It will be with:
Opteron 165 (stock, 0615/4 pipe HSF)
Bioforce TForce 6100 mobo
1.5gb pc400 dual channel Kingston Value

I have two SATA drives. Would performance be better with games loaded on the second drive, seperate from the OS?

Also, should I overclock the Opteron? When I got it, I OC'ed it to a dual prime-95 stable 2.6ghz. But, I don't really do any encoding and I've heard most games are GPU limited, not CPU.

Also, I had to use a memory divider. At 1.8ghz, the memory is at 3-3-3-8 2T. I set it to 1T in the bios last night and it wouldn't boot. Should I try to change any memory settings?

I've beat CoD on every difficulty setting (lame, I know  ) and Far Cry plays at 1024 at the lowest settings. I'm about half way through Far Cry, but I'm hoping it will look/play so much better that I'll just start the game over. I also have CoD 2 and it's unplayable at 640x480 with the onboard 6100, I must be getting like 5 fps.

I'm into FPS's as you can see, but I used to be a Gran Turismo junkie (Need For Speed is too cheezy) and flight sims always seemed kind of cool. Are there any that can look good-great on my setup?

Definately leave it overclocked.

Here's an older overclocking review on a X2 3800+ system comparable to yours:

Scroll down to the Far Cry benchmarks to see the effects of the extra clock speed. It's on an X850XT, slightly more powerful than the 7600GT, but you can expect frames not too far from those.

As for game recommendations, I would say anything not released in the past three to five months or so can play with moderate eye-candy on. I put many many hours into Oblivion and was never not amazed with the graphics or bogged down with low FPS.

Edit Addon: I have owned and been using a 7600GT since I replaced an AGP X850XT last May. I had been impressed with gaming at 1280x1024 with mid-high eye-candy on a range of games until I installed Medieval II: Total War, even with somewhat low settings it liked to bog down at 15 FPS too much even with my E6400 @ 2.66. Supreme Commander is something I plan too hold off on until I upgrade to some next gen DX10 card. But these are RTS, I'm less sure of the Racing and FPS genres.

I've been running a 7600gt since last June. Its been a huge difference. I first started playing FEAR with lame integrated 6150 graphics. The difference is like night and day. Now i can turn most settings to max (no soft shadows, 2x fsaa, trilinear filtering). Runs smooth for me at 1440x900. At 1024x768, all max settings should be playable with your games. At 1280x1024 you should be able to run max settings, but turn down the anti aliasing a bit.
I'm also running a 4600x2 at 2.6 ghz
