I have a Core 2 Duo(E6600) running on Intel's DG965SS motherboard.I wish to know whether 4x512 MB of RAM @ 667MHz is better than 2x512MB of Ram @800MHz.My Motherboard supports dual channel. Also,I would like to know whether the Motherboard runs the the 800MHz ram @ 800MHz or it downgrades it to 533MHz(read about it on some site). Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Yes the 2GB would undoubtedly be better. Both sets of RAM would be downgraded to 533MHz by default.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the MB BIOS and the RAM. In any case, it's easy enough to set the memory speed/voltage/latencies manually in the BIOS.
