i need some help deciding what to get for this build but i also got a question about Sli

ok i can get a BFG 7900 GT OC 256 mb from a friend for cheap because he is upgrading so would i be able to SLI with this setup ? the real problem is the site i order from here in Canada does not carry the 7900GT OC anymore but they do have a cheaper XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB that i could get but would it work with one being OC and BFG and one not being OC and XFX brand, also is XFX known for very good cards? really want to know if this will all work.

Thanks

As far as I know, in order to SLI you have to use 2 cards that are from the same manufacturer with the same exact everything.

You will not be able to use a XFX 7900GT with a BFG 7900GT in SLI.
Just use the one card, Ive used a 7900GS which is essentially the same, and it gets superb performance @1600x1200.

just stick w the one card

You can SLI different brands. It doesn't have to have everything identical, just same GPU.

Any 7900GT with any 7900GT for example.

I didn't see a price range, but right now I'd go with like an 8800gts 320mb, seems like a good spot at price/dollar + dx10

probally out of my price range, the game i will be playing the most is Everquest 2 and also various FPS games

I would just buy the single 7900 from your friend. It would help him out, and run every game available right now at decent settings. Save the money that it would take to go SLi and save it for a single 8800/R600 down the road.

Best of Luck
