We are getting a message to insert cd for the original
operating system (win98se)when we are attempting to
install win2000pro upgrade. All we rec'd at time of
purchase of this HP Pavilion were the systems and
application restore discs (win98se was already
installed). Inserted each disc and rec'd the same message
to either insert original disc or quit the install. What
are we missing?

The best you can do in this situation is clean install win98 and immediately
upgrade to Windows 2000. Also be sure to have these on hand and install them
before connecting to any network.
