A local store has these three TVs on sale.

Toshiba 34HD82 $1279
Sony 34HS510 $1350
Philips 34PW862H $1199

Please give me comments on which one is the better deal.
I place a premium on reliablity and picture quality.
Don't be afraid to tell me to stay away from all three.

Do these support 1080i, 702p and 480p? Some of the spec sheets I've found
don't have this. Am I really missing something if I just have 1080i and
480p?

Thanks,
Rich

Sony 34HS510 at $1350 is a super deal....
I own this year old set at a $1999 price...
Good picture, good guts, & Good audio...
This set has it all except for finer Sony screen mask...

Toshiba 34HF82 is two years old....
New current model is 34HF84... Pretty good set..
except for sound
720p vs 540p is minor issue..
Toshiba 34HFX84 has the good speakers

Phillips anything CRT is 3rd rate... Not the best...
I would not buy it.....

Sony! I bought my 34HS510 at $1850 and it was worth every penny, so I
can't believe that 1350 price - I'd buy two ;).

Great set, solid construction, great picture.

The HS510 was a 2002 XBR set without the name.
The HS420 is a stripped down version of the HS510.
Sony will be releasing an XS series soon. It will be the HS510 or even the
2003 XBR set. Probably priced about $2000.
