Hello, I have just built a rig using an Athlon 3400+ Venice and it appears to me the CPU is running very warm. This system is not overclocked in anyway.

The below are all idle temps using a COOLER MASTER DK8 hsf with Artic Silver 5 paste. The ambient temperature is around 23.5C.

Speedfan
System:37C
CPU:39C
AUX:45C
HD0:33C
Core:47C

Coretemp
Core #0 48C

Asus PC Probe II
CPU 38C

Are these temps high for this processor?

Thank you.

my A64 3000+ venice E6 (on stock AMD cooling) Oced to 2400Mhz @1.425vcore ran at 41c idle and 55c load on a room temp of 33c ..depending on your room temp, you can use this as a basis

I guess that was another question I had. Which AMD temps should I be watching? I was concerned about the idle core temps reported by Speedfan and Coretemp.

mpilchfamily, considering my idle temps are higher than your load temps then it appears this system is running warmer than it should. I will try and remount the hsf tonight.
