Can anyone here recommend a dial-up modem thats compatible with x64 Vista Ultimate? Ive been having a rough time finding one that has x64 bit drivers. Also, is there a significant difference between v.90 and v.92 modems?

Unfortunately i lack a reasonable broadband solution in my area. So as far as i'm aware, i'm stuck with dial-up. believe me it's not by choice.

Does Windows Vista offer a list of modem drivers to choose from? If so, then just buy one of those modems on the list.

You will have a very hard time finding drivers as many manufactuers are very slow in putting out 64-bit drivers and atm I don't think there are any x64 bit modem drivers.

As for the difference between the two you can get the most accurate information on the v.92 standard here: http://www.v92.com/

Its just a compression technology that in theory speeds things up.

i'm using this modem in xp 64 bit and the drivers for this modem are loaded by default as SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with Smart CP. i would imagine they are included in vista as well

So did I, but then we got satellite broadband from Earthlink. It costs more than other broadband and isn't as good, but it beats dial-up like a prizefighter pounding on a 2-year old. I'd suggest you take a look.
