fax modem suggestions?

I want to use the fax modem for fax occasionally, and for phone and answering machine extensively.

a person told me to get aopen 56k and the other told me to get us robotics 5670.

so i am tired of searching for reviews but cant find one. so suggestions will be very welcome. I am looking for something that has good answering machine function (if software is needed then please give me the name of one).

This won't help much, but you simply need a data/fax/voice modem. this technology is nothing new, so I doubt you are going to find much differences between brands.
