After installing SP4

I have installed SP4 for WINDOWS 2000 on an IBM ThinkPad 570.
I got no error messages, but after the installetion, every
time I try to run almost any program, I get: Preparing to
install" which remoins on the screen for a while, but
nothing seems to be installed.
In the device manager there is an UNKNOWN DEVICE with a
question mark, but I cannot unistall it.
What is going on? Almost everything seems to be working
OK, except my WiFi network connection which is misbehaving.
I have reinstalled the driver for the WiFi card, but that
did not fix the problem.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Nothing much I can say with this information
However we could try some steps

1) we try to uninstall devices one by one and then reinstall
2) The device which has question mark , try to disable it and then check
3) Uninstall SP4 and then check
4) Connect to internet and try to install driver for that device from
internet and see what it searches and gives


otherwise call phone support for more intensive research
