help!! replaying silver...

If recently started replaying silver and I'm stuck!
I've come to kanto and finished the available gyms and been to lavender
radio tower for teh radio card. I've received the card but can't see or us
int in my pokegear. have I missed something?? Help me out please!!

All it does is let you tune into the Kanto stations while in Kanto, using
the same screen as in Johto.

I know but you also need it to wake up snorlax so you can get trough
diglett's cave and reach other towns.
