Hello,

I'm following Q296861 to install bunch of hotfixes. At the end of the
script I have a line %PATHTOFIXES%\qchain.exe. I'm just wondering, I
don't see any confirmation that qchain actually ran. In anyone's
experience, does qchain give feedback through either the command window
or a popup box? Or is no news good news?

Thanks!

qchain will flash up a cmd.exe window for about a 1/4th of a second,
depending on the speed of the box you're running it on. It's pretty
easy to miss it on a fast machine, but it should be there. Also, don't
take this as gospel, but if you're installing Q-patches with the -z -m
flags on WindowsXP I don't think you need to run qchain when you're
done. Just a reboot works as well.
