Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup_upgrade (More info?)

I have two DCs, upgraded from 2000 to 2003. The PDC in the main site, a
newer server, works fine. The DC, in a remote site has errors. Error ID
1053 and "server is not operational". I have not found a fix to this
although the docs for the error indicate it is related to the upgrade.

This remote server was not yet providing services as I am planning to
migrate users and printing from a Netware server. I am thinking it would be
quicker to remove this server from the domain, it is a DC and is setup
properly in the "site". Then blow off the OS and reinstall 2003 with a
clean install.

How does one get a DC off the domain cleanly after a crash??
