2000 to 2003 Server Problem

I have a problem with our Domain Controller in our development domain. Having
started the 2003 upgrade the machine then reboots and at the point where you
expect the windows setup to appear the screen is just blank. The machine
hangs, no HDD activity, no keyboard activity. Monitors light is still on but
nobodies home.

It passed the compatibility checked. I had 800mb spare on the system driver.
The only failures on the system check were 'Fax Service' (wasn't even aware
we were running it) and 'Video Controller'.

Has anyone come across this? Any ideas?
