The X800XL is a better card.

But would it work with that motherboard do you think?

As long as it's AGP it'll work fine.

The x800 is a faster card and does perform better, but it does not have the latest and greatest that the new cards of today are boasting. The 7600 is this case is the better of the two cards.Realy it's up to you.Either card performs well.Close your eyes and turn three times.Whatever card you are pointing closest to is the one you want.

It realy depends on what games you play.

I would personaly buy ATI. It plays Oblivion a lot better than nvidia.

My x800xt destroys a 7900gs in Oblivion.

If you could get you hands on a Palit 7600GS Sonic DDR3 for agp it an run most games at fairly good resolution and quality.

and it overclocks well from stock 400/1000 got my friends card running at 500/1500

you get almost 7600gt speeds for $100

SM3.0, 7600, if you play any games that require it (like the latest rainbow vegas). But the x800 is overall better.

Yeah, the X800XL is easily the more powerful card. But if SC:Double Agent is on his play list, he would need an SM3.0 card. A 7600GS would be a step down in performance though, unless he gets a GDDR3 version and OC's it.

I totally agree. Besides, the 7600GS is not really powerful enough to fully utilize sm3.0. IMO anything less than a 7600GT isn't worth getting just for sm3.0.
