I found a solution, but it led to other problems for me.

First I uninstalled the nVidia NAM in the add/remove programs menu. Then I installed the latest nForce drivers from the nVidia website. Then I installed the latest video card drivers for my 7800GT, as well as AMD drivers for my cpu.

The BSODs stopped, which made me very happy. But after all those updates, Internet Explorer would freeze after opening one page. I'd click on a link and it'd freeze.. I'd try to open another site from the Favorites menu and it'd freeze. So after hours of searching on my other computer and attempting various fixes for problems resembling the one I was having, I gave up and just did a system restore to before I installed all those "updates". So I'm going to try the updates one by one to see what's causing the IE problem.

Bottomline is, the BSODs stop if you uninstall the nvidia NAM.
