Cant delete a folder?

i have three old folders and when i try to delete them it says

"you need permission to perform this action"

"you require permission from my-pc\me to make changes to this folder"

i dont know how to get rid of these... i googled it and the only options i could try was some obscure programs for taking ownership and some that can delete any file or something... not sure how legit these programs are... ? is there something simple that im missing or should i go mess with these random programs
