End of 2007 is still a long time from now. I'd suggest you keep an eye on Socket AM3 or even K8L/K10 if they're out by then.

First I believe that mobo and CPU are already last generation. Akhilles is right, it is way too early to spec a computer that you won't build till the end of the year. They'll be new CPUs from AMD and Intel as well as price drops. I'd suggest you start specking about October and in the mean time read as much as you can on what Intel and AMD are bringing out this year as well as pricing.

Don't think that RAM will work......DDR vs DDR2 for AM2.

Come back in October and then we can help. Impossible to help now, sorry.

Ok thanks guys but im pretty sure that DDR memory would work with a motherboard taht can support DDR2

Actually, no.

There's really only one mobo out there that supports DDR and DDR2: the ASRock-VSTA 775. That's it.

So, unfortunately you either need to get that mobo, or ditch the DDR etc and buy new stuff :(

You are better off with DDR2 in the long run anyway. The memory performance should almost triple
