Hello, just found my way to the forum. 8) One quick question: I am currently running 512MB- (2 x 256 MB) sticks and want to add 1GB. Do you suggest a single 1 GB stick or a (2 x 512MB) kit... My computer is a Compaq SR1250NX...PC3200, 184 pin, DDR1-400 SDRAM with 4 DIMM slots and two open slots...Any sugestions would be greatfull... :D

Your motherboard/computer manual might mention it; otherwise, check with Compaq tech support.

Since its a 915 chipset, it does work with dual channel, therefore 2x512mb would be better.

Be sure that each channel gets 768MB total otherwise it won't be a true dual channel, but some sort of flex memory (example, running a 256MB stick and a 1GB stick in a dual channel setup -- it runs the first 256MB of the 1GB stick in dual channel but the next 768MB are single channel, so your first 512MB of total RAM is twice as fast as the 768MB after it.)
