I am looking forward to buying a 25" to 27" 4:3 (not widescreen, LCD
or PLASMA tvs) SDTV-Ready flat tube digital tv with 480i and 480p
formats for my bedroom. Does Best Buy or Wal-Mart stores carry 25" to
27" 4:3 SDTV-READY flat tube digital tv with 480i and 480p formats as
of yet?

Google to their respective Web Sites and scan to your hearts content. You
will find multiple 25-28" teles at relative prices sold by the retailers.
Then, select the item you are definitely interested in, check stocking
levels, and go get it.

There's still some 4:3 low-end 27" direct view HDTV sets around, too.
Don't exclude them totally, as they may fit your price range and they
certainly do provide good 480p reception. I can only speak for my
Samsung when it comes to SDTV reception, but it is excellent on mine (I
use Star Choice satellite, though, and the STB can supply the set with
1080i or 480p on demand even for SDTV).
I saw an Advent 27" in the store a couple of weeks back that was only
around $600 Cdn that did 480i, 480p and 1080i. That would be about $450
if translated directly into US money, but they would probably be still
cheaper there. And these are now last years models, so you might find
them cheaper still. It would make a good bedroom TV, I think. My
Samsung is a bit big for that kind of idea and weighs over 100 lb which
is a lot for a 27" TV.
