ok I have a problem with booting programs. It seems as tho whenever I try and double click on a short cut on my desktop to boot a program then it asks me to "open with" and once I go into program files and find the ".exe" then it will work fine. But I also can't seem to install new programs or drivers from my disk drives. and I can't access portions of my "...dll.exe" files like my system application or my calender. Recently I deleted part of my system32 folder in attempts to rid myself of a virus. The good news is the virus is gone the bad news is that I deleted required portions of my system32 folder. Since then I have run 2 different programs trying to fix my dll.exe proplem and they have been "fixed" and the problem persists.

this is the URL to my other topic that I posted approx a week ago:

Good time to do a reinstall. You may have "fixed" the problem but the side effects are still haunting you.
Backup and reinstall would be the best option.

Try this:
1) Put your Windows disc in the CD Drive.
2) Click Start>Run and type in sfc.exe /scannow
This will compare the versions of the files against the ones on the CD and rebuid them if any are missing or bad. That may fix your issue.

Good Luck!
