ME not compatible with mp3 and sims game

i unfortunately have microsoft ME and alot of my girls xmas stuff won't work(mp3-sims-etc.) what a poor system. do i have any option except for installing xp(alot of $ involved)or do i need a new computer? thanks

The first sims series works on ME just fine. If we knew which mp3 player you have, we could help you out.
