I purchased a Fellowes Stowaway Keyboard for my new iPaq 4155. The
keyboard works great, but when I plug the wall charger into the
connector on the back of the keyboard, it doesn't charge. The
company that sold me the keyboard even sent me a replacement, but
still no charge. The iPaq charger cord comes with an extra adapter.
You unplug the flat, wide connector and then plug the round adapter
plug (below it on the cord) into the 4" adapter cable that comes with
the keyboard. It has a small plug on the other end that fits the
connector on the keyboard. Interestingly, using the same round adapter
plug on the charger cord, I plugged in a spare battery pack to the
flat connector that goes into the base of the iPaq...and no juice.
This battery charger works fine with my old iPaq 3670, so I know the
batteries are good. Also, the keyboard package indicates it fits the
ipaq 3800, 3900 and 5400 series...although their website said it works
with the iPaq 4155. The base connector that the iPaq mounts onto the
keyboard with fits perfectly..and the keyboard operates just fine.
I'm really puzzled. Is it possible the battery charger for the old
iPaq has a plug that's not compatible with the iPaq 4155? (it fits)
Could the round adapter plug on the wall charger cord be bad? It works
when connected to the flat, wide iPaq base connector, but not when
routing through the keyboard adapter plug and into the keyboard.

Thanks!
Scott

I think I've figured out the problem. The male plug adapter (small round
connector with male shaft on the inside) on my iPaq charging cord is about
twice the thickness of the same male plug adapter on the Fellowes Stowaway
Keyboard plug adapter (the one that plugs into the back of the keyboard--
to charge the iPaq). While both plugs fits snugly, the plug on the keyboard
adapter can be wiggled back and forth...so it's probably not making electrical
contact. So, is there some kind of adapter plug for the adapter plug, so the
keyboard charge function can be made to work?

Thanks!
Scott
