I was just wondering about a couple things:
For driver updates like a graphics card, do you always download the newest driver and install it, disregarding previous drivers that are newer than the current one installed? And why?
Also, when formatting, what's the difference between low-level formatting and just regular formatting (i.e from the OS disc)? Don't they both delete all the information on a HDD?
lowlevel format is a command, its job is to convert all 1's into 0's (binary numbers), actualy its the real format
the one NAMED "format" doesnt really delete files, especialy in NTFS, the HardDrive gets a command not to delete the files but (in a way) to LIE windows that there arent any data.
yes hard to understand, but why? and why is there still free space after u format a drive.
its simple, windows is lied that it has freespace, when u write somethin on the harddrive, u just overwrite the place where the data was before, windows doesnt know/detect that, this makes it even possible to recover data with special software .
lowlevel format takes alot of time, while format just reserves the blocks, so whoever created it, it was logical, coz u cant wait a whole day to lowlevel format a Harddrive just for a new INSTALL of Windows.
