I've just got new system with windows xp but it seems to have come with a lot of excess baggage. In msconfig, which of the following processes can be safely 'unticked' (ie. disabled at start-up). I haven't installed much software myself except internet connection. In time I would like to become familiar with all of these processes but in the meantime I've just made a note of each process, shown in brackets.

qttask (quickTime)

PCMService (Cyberlink/PowerCinema)

PBKScheduler (schedular for powercinema)

rundll32

NvCpl (associated file to rundll32)

nwiz

NvMcTray

HDAShCut (HDAShCut.exe)

CTDVDDET (SBAudigy4)

CTSysVol (SBAudigy4 Surround MIxer)

CTHELPER (CTHELPER.EXE)

UpdReg (UpdReg.exe)

jusched (program Files/Javabin/jusched.exe)

ctfmon (windows/system32/ctfmon.exe)

Power2GoExpress (program files/cyberlink/power2goexpress.exe)

also might try Blackviper.com. If the site is still down just do a google on it and an archive site should be there.
You can go thru all of your services and other settings with this page. Very helpfull.
