I don't have a DVD drive installed, however windows explorer and device manager both see one in addition to my CD drive. I've tried removing it from device manager but upon rebooting, it's back there again, it says it's a SCSI DVD device.
Anyone have any thoughts? It's XP with SP2 installed.
I'll give that a go, thanks! I don't have a SCSI controller at all which makes it stranger. This only started happening a few days ago (nothing new installed just before it started), I've been back to a restore point but no change
Nope, nothing like that at all In Device Manager it shows a SCSI controller as well as the SCSI DVD drive, I have uninstalled the controller (although I don't physically have a SCSI controller!) and uninstalled the drive from device manager, after a reboot it was back again
SATA controllers or other controllers than the ones integrated into the chipset of the motherboard can sometimes be displayed as SCSI devices. What exactly is the device called?
