Very interesting article. Definately will be watching where they will go, HD-DVD vs BlueRay ;-)

One thing the article did not talk about, but where the porn industry was a leader, was the telephony technology.

I was in that business (telephony that is :kaola: ), and every time I went to a conference, there they were. The porn boys pushing the limits, of the technology.

Sony didn't get lucky try finding a hd-dvd burner i looked everywhere not one store had one now blu-ray burners every store had some in stock.

Every ps3 is equipped with a blu-ray player, only the new version of xbox360 can output 1080p but not true 1080p if sony woke up and had tv shows, movies ect for download maybe the ps3 would be more popular.

why doesnt the "Shop for Movies" advert on the top right show 'related' material?
I think the webmaster needs to look into that.

haha

Well, it hasnt been determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that "the industry" has decided on blu-ray. A few months ago we would have been saying HD-DVD.

not so sure porn matters in this current battle. its no longer an era of deprivation, we are porn swamped. easy porn on the net easy porn on dvd through purchase on the internet:P
its really nothing like the past anymore where porn was desperately wanted by the market and yearning for a delivery system.

agreed with the above + the YouTube generation seems more interested in producing and sharing their own material instead of watching professionals at work.

Would have to disagree. Porn is still a 10s of million dollar plus business and they need the technology to get people to buy what they can get free. I'm guessing most couples watch porn on a DVD or VCR player and that's who a lot of this stuff is aimed at rather people watching by themselves. In addition to the HD format than need to reduce production and distribution cost.
