GAH!At what point do you just break down and buy a #&% mobo?

I've been researching parts for about 4 months now, because I have been wanting to build a new computer.. but I'm still undecided on a few things. Largest, being the mobo.

The 680i ones aren't the most stable.. we all know that.. and then there's the MSI XFiX that's coming out soon which would be incredibly awesome.

I really want to get a mobo that I can actually upgrade the components on down the road, instead of having to replace it.



I'm wondering at what point do I just say "eff it" and buy a damn mobo?

You cannot go wrong with P965. Or wait for Bearlake. Both are good options :x

You cannot go wrong with P965.

You can if you want Crossfire or SLI.

id go 975x, better pci-e lanes, oc's pretty well dispite what you may think form thg... plus, Sli hack drivers

well certainly the 975 is a much more stable board, but the 680i offers more (if it works correctly...) and can handle SLI...

I'm hoping to stop being a pansy and actually pick a board by the april 22 price cuts.

I would go for a 975x motherboard, Asus P5W DH for flexability or Abit AW9DMAX for OC'ing

Both are rock solid motherboards.
