Anyone know of a log file that is created by chkdsk? Basically I want to know what it did when it ran. Thanks

Control Panel - Admin tools - Event Viewer - Application.

Look for Winlogon near the top. Open it and click the clipboard. Close out.

Open your word processor and Paste.

If you want, you can print it out from here. I run it once a month; saving all the reports for comparison.

Or... When you run the Check Disk, it creates a log file right on your hard drive... Just open your C: and look at the log files that are there... One of them is the log of the last Check Disk...

Beg to differ. When you check off the two boxes in Error Checking under Tools. and then have to reboot to let it run before boot-up, Winlogon is the only record.
