After about 5-10 minutes of playing, Windows Media Player gets really slow and songs will start to skip... cpu usage jumps to 95%+. I have a AMD 3800+ dual core with 2gb of RAM.

Other playback programs such as winamp run without issue. I've scanned for spyware and viruses, and have found nothing.

Anyone experienced a similar problem and found a solution, or anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks for any help!

I am having the same issue with Windows Media Player 10 (Server 2003). Sucks, I like the program - but it gets old when the music powering my outside speakers starts to skip (Digital music does not skip).
Hopefully somone has some ideas. HELP!
