Ok here is what I am having a problem with.

I just got all of my parts in Via - NewEgg and put the computer completly together. This is not the first one I have built and fully understand how everything goes and works.

I turn the computer on and:
The Fan Turns On - The CPU Fan Turns On - The Harddrives & CD roms turn on and or show activity - The Monitor Light (Green Comes On) - Then it sounds like its about to boot up, then clicks and turns off afrter 5 - 10 secs on being on.

I have took out every single part (Both HD's, Both Cd Rom's, Ram, Video Card ect...Moved the ram around - but still does the same thing. I took out the battery (for reset) ect... Never had this problem before.

Could it be CPU? Mobo? PSU?

Thank You In Advanced! :D

Make sure the HS/f is seated properly on the board... what CPU socket you using, AM2 or 775?

Which motherboard are you using?

Does it POST anything at all?

How are your hard drives configured?

What RAM do you have?

I took the HS/F Off and remounted it and it seems to be fine and snug. Here is the Mobo, CPU, Ram info.

MotherBoard: GIGABYTE GA-K8N51GMF-9 Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

RAM: pqi POWER Series 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model MD4412UOE - Retail

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Venice 2.2GHz 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - OEM

I have 2 CD-Roms (one on Master and the other on Slave) same for both hardrives. (Right now I am just using one of each to get it working.

I don't beileve that it is posting anything, I get the green light on the monitor but no picture.

I am using the onbaord video, like a said the green light comes on but no pic, I don't even think it gets to post bc I hear nothing and onbaord sound is hooked and I have a usb headset plugged in.

It turns on, then everything seems to work, then just clicks and turns off slowly.

Well I unhooked my gaming PSU and put it in the other computer and I am getting the same results, so we can say that its not the PSU. I have looked at all the capasiters ect.. on the mobo to make sure none were leaking or blugged out. I unplugged the battery also.

What can I try next to determine whats wrong?

Needless to say but, unplug everything, except the MB ram and monitor obviously, and try to post.
Looks like you did that in your OP. It's not the PS so that leaves CPU, MB, RAM. try changing out what ever is easiest to get your hands on until you find the cause. Good luck.

I guess I can switch around some things will this computer until I find out the problem. I will start with the ram, but I don't think there is anyway to check the cpu, and not sure what I can do to check the mobo since I am not posting to figure out he problem.

What should I do first?

Yes, I have had this baord for about 10 months and until now I decided to use it. I have up to 1 year to RMA it to newegg, but I seems that they do not have this baord in stock anymore, do you think they will still do it?

Yeah, it sounded like a dead mobo from the outset, but it could be worth swapping out the RAM before you RMA it, unless you know the RAM is okay.
